Infrastructure uptime monitoring
Infrastructure uptime monitoring
To ensure the protection of each client and the proper functioning of the sites, Sirix offers an Infrastructure uptime monitoring. This method allows us to keep an eye on the equipment in real time and to prevent any malfunctions. There are four important steps to this method: self-monitoring, analysis, reports, and prevention.
Most server problems can be prevented. A sudden rise in temperature in a processor, for example, usually indicates a problem with one of the ventilators.  We can then inform you so you can place a service call.
The goal of this type of technology is to minimize the risk of equipment malfunctions to prevent lapses in surveillance or operations. By providing these options, we can ensure the perfect functioning of the system and prevent future breakdowns.

What are the problems we can prevent?
•    Hikes in processor temperature
•    Sudden processor overload
•    Fragmentation of your hard disk
•    Swap space usage
•    Required system updates
•    Problematic applications
When it comes to IP cameras, it is hard to prevent future malfunctions. If this happens, we are able to detect the following issues:

•    Loss of camera signal
•    Loss of bidirectional antenna signal
•    Offline IP speaker
•    Access reader breakdown
•    Loss of intercom signal
•    Any Windows specific service

If any equipment goes offline, an automatic alert is received. The operator can then follow the procedure implemented for that specific client. This process also takes charge of the Windows processes required for video applications or other applications.
On top of the advanced monitoring system, the operations centre also relies on prevention through human interaction. Each piece of equipment is remotely tested three times a day to ensure proper functioning. The operators verify:

•    Camera – verification of image clarity and obstructions
•    IP relay –  feedback on verification request

Each location is also verified in person once per month. A patroller visits the sites with a plan of installed equipment. During his visit, he determines if the equipment is faulty or not working properly. A report is then sent.
By implementing Infrastructure uptime monitoring, we eliminate equipment failures and maximize operator performance.
